Congratulations on the birth of your baby! Of course, as a new mom, you have been focusing all of your attention and energies on your little bundle of joy. But what about you? Who has been paying attention to mommy’s needs?
Babybites Brooklyn is here to do just that. We — together with Momasphere, who are co-presenting this exciting event with babybites — have put together “Taking Care of Mommy,” where we will have a lineup of professionals on hand (all certified/licensed in their field), each at their own “station,” to cater to YOUR needs (not baby’s — though baby is invited to attend, of course):
Featuring Gopi Jhaveri, DPT, Women's Health Specialist, METRO SPORTSMED Park Slope
A physical therapist specializing in postnatal issues who will check you for diastisis and other common postnatal conditions and demonstrate ways that you can start to heal
-
A postnatal yoga instructor who will conduct a mini yoga session with you
-
A professional Soho salon hair stylist who will consult with you on your best look, color & cut
-
An acupuncturist/chinese herb practitioner who will discuss postpartum care from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, including herbal and dietary solutions to common health issues facing new moms.
-
A postnatal fitness instructor who will perform mini drills with you and show you how to work out with baby
-
A health counselor specializing in postnatal nutrition who will offer best tips on eating well and losing the baby weight
-
A skin and makeup consultant who will offer samples to help you feel beautiful even when you are a sleep-deprived new mom
-
JUST ADDED– a photographer, who will be there to take a beautiful photo of you and your baby
This will not be a typical seminar. Rather, moms will have the opportunity to move from station to station, experiencing each mom-focused activity and learning valuable and practical tips along the way. Of course, moms will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the professionals.
